Forrester Recognizes SDL Tridion as WCMS Leader
According to the independent research firm Forrester Research, Inc., SLD Tridion has reinforced itself as a leader in Global Information Management solutions. The Forrester Wave: Web Content Management for Online Customer Experience, Q3 2011 (July 2011) sited SDL as a Web Content Management (WCM) leader due to its “rich functionality, strategy and enterprise track record”
According to Forrester, SDL’s “BluePrinting™” technology was the differentiator between being the cutting edge leader and the rest of the field. The “BluePrinting™” product ensures centralized control of content while having localized flexibility. It also enables customers to utilize multiple languages and/or multiple brands when managing their websites. Not only did SDL develop “BluePrinting™” with optimal functionality, but it set it apart with its graphical administrative and design interfaces.
The Forrester Wave measures, ranks, and evaluates WCM vendors based on current offering, strategy, and market presence.
- Current offering – Evaluates vendors using 10 criterion: content authoring, presentation management, library services, globalization and localization, publishing and deployment, content targeting, multichannel delivery, customer experience integration, social and community tools, and product architecture.
- Strategy – Evaluates how a vendors’ planned enhancement will meet the evolving management experience needs of customers, and whether vendors have the resources, technologies, and partnerships in place to meet those needs.
- Market Presence – Evaluates vendors’ installed base, financial situation, and products/services.
On a broader level, Forrester rates WCM vendors on their ability to fulfill quality Customer Experience Management (CXM), which Forrester defines as “a set of solutions which enable the management and delivery of dynamic, targeted, consistent content, offers, products, and service interactions across digitally enabled consumer touchpoints.”
