Continuing the spirit of the previous “streamlined” version 3.2, WordPress introduces Version 3.3 dubbed “Sonny,” after the great jazz saxophonist Sonny Stitt.

There are a handful of new features that contribute to a simpler, more functional content management experience.

Right of the bat, users of version 3.3 will be impressed with a revamped Dashboard screen, with new feature pointers that draw one’s attention to any new functionality, allowing the user to learn quickly while eliminating any surprises. Attention was also given to improving the co-editing experience, an easier way to import content from Tumblr and the ability to change between themes without having to keep re-configuring the number and position of your Widgets.

Another welcomed feature of version 3.3 is the single media icon uploader, which supports drag and drop functionality. Uploading lots of files of all kinds? No problem…drag, drop, done.

Tired of multiple clicks in the admin bar to get where you need to go? Version 3.3 has fixed all that with new flyout functionality. Users can now hover over their desired menu and those menu options are then presented in in a flyout format. The fewer clicks the better right?

WordPress 3.3 has also merged the toolbar and admin bars for continued easy access, eliminating any previous confusion between the two.

And Finally, “Sonny” is now optimized for the IPAD. Update your content on the go by utilizing the touch screen support. Doesn’t matter what device your on, Version 3.3 will work for you.

These are just a few of the new features that set WordPress apart with its combination of sophistication and simplicity. WordPress is great for Web Developers and simple, everyday bloggers alike… and as always, its free.
